Day 1:
Travel to Jamestown, NY and check in to the Hampton Inn . Enjoy a visit to Roberto's Restaurant in Jamestown, NY specializing in delicious Italian dishes. Enjoy a buffet featuring penne pasta with red sauce, meatballs, and baked chicken breast. Also included will be green beans, tossed salad and a dessert tray featuring delicious cookies and mini-cream puffs as well as coffee or soda as beverage. (D)
Day 2:
We begin with a visit to the Reg Lenna Civic Center, formerly the Palace Theatre where Lucille Ball and her grandfather Fred Hunt used to watch vaudeville. This is also where the movie "Forever Darling" premiered and both Lucy and Desi were there for the premier. Lucy also performed there as a teen, as an extra in a touring company production. Visit The Desi-Lu Center featuring the Desilu Playhouse and The Lucy-Desi Museum next door. The Playhouse features exact replicas of the most famous sets in television history, vintage costumes and memorabilia, and more! The Lucy-Desi Museum exhibits costumes, wardrobe and personal memorabilia of Lucy and Desi, plus screenings including excerpts from Lucie Arnaz’s Emmy Award-winning documentary "Lucy & Desi: A Home Movie" and historic TV episodes. Time for lunch on own in downtown Jamestown. Guided driving tour of the Jamestown highlighting Lucy landmarks. "Eat Like Lucy" in the unique setting of the Tropicana Room, a reproduction of the "I Love Lucy" Tropicana Nightclub set. Located in the upper level of the Desilu Playhouse, this site has created a theme meal based on some of the beloved Lucy sketches. Today, in honor of Episode #39 in Season 2, "Job Switching" also known as the "Candy Factory" episode, you'll enjoy salad/bread, roasted chicken, rice, buttered carrots and double chocolate cake. Day 3:
Today we visit to the Erie Maritime Museum where exhibits including a short video illustrate the dramatic story of the Battle of Lake Erie and the War of 1812. Also visit the U.S. Brig Niagara, a reconstructed flagship, if in port. All aboard the Victorian Princess for a narrated cruise in Presque Isle Bay with luncheon buffet. Visit the Tom Ridge Environmental Center on Erie's Presque Isle where you'll enjoy a guided tour including video and displays describing the ecosystem of the area, the 75 foot glass tower (with elevator and stair access) for great views, and gift shop. enjoy a guided driving tour of Presque Isle with a guide from the Tom Ridge Environmental Center to lead the way. Generally included are views of or stops at a lighthouse and the Perry Monument based on tour timing and availability. Dinner on own at the automotive-themed Quaker Steak and Lube Restaurant, Erie. Visit to Mazza Winery in North East for a tour of the production area where you'll learn how they turn grapes into wonderful wine, then enjoy a tasting with time to browse in the gift shop. Return to Jamestown (B, D)
Day 4: Enjoy a hot breakfast buffet including make-your-own waffles at hotel. (B)
